Every Ficari piece begins with a reference point that has nothing to do with furniture. A forest floor. A coastal ice sheet. The geometry of an Italian column. These are not mood board gestures. They are design briefs that shape every material choice, every proportion, every joint.
Three pieces. Three distinct ideas. Each one a small argument for taking furniture seriously as a designed thing rather than a purchased one.
Named for the Komi Forest, where roots press through soil and reshape the land over centuries. Oak and walnut were chosen because their grain and weight carry that story materially. You are not looking at a table that resembles nature. You are looking at wood that has always been nature, shaped by hands that understood the connection.
Nido means nest. The tabletop rests within the legs rather than sitting on top of them. The joint where top meets leg becomes a detail you read, not a construction problem the maker hoped you would overlook. In most furniture, joinery is hidden. Here it is the point.
Inspired by floating ice sheets: forms that are massive and weightless at the same time. The Nero Marquina stone top is engineered to appear to hover above its cylindrical base. The separation is a deliberate interval, the space where the piece breathes. Grounded below, light above.
